Scholars protest as stipend hike due since 2010

NEW DELHI: Thousands of research scholars across the country expressed great disappointment with what they saw as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "rhetoric" on science and technology which they said was not backed by concrete policy initiatives or action. Not only have stipends not been increased since 2010, researchers often have to wait for a whole year to get the monthly stipend, they said.
